Electronic Visit Verification Requirements

In 2016, the federal government passed the Cures Act, requiring the verification of most Medicaid-funded personal care services. In order to meet these requirements, the Oregon Office of Developmental Disability Services (ODDS) implemented a statewide launch of EVV, which took effect in July of 2019. As of April of 2020, ODDS started taking action against those who are not yet using a system for electronically verifying personal care services.

This mandate was established as a way to improve care provider accountability, increase transparency, and ensure consumers receive the quality of care they need and deserve. Getting the Most Out of Your EVV Software

To simplify the implementation of electronic visit verification, an EVV system was made available through the current Oregon Express Payment and Reporting (eXPRS) website. However, it lacks certain capabilities and user-friendly features that would be beneficial to care providers.
